Here's another TED talk - this time by Clay Shirky, about the positive role Twitter can play in social change. There's a big ongoing argument about what role services like Twitter play in political movements and revolutions, which we'll try to look at in more detail as the module goes on.

Multimedia Journalism - Today's session Today we're going to have a quick look at Twitter and how journalists use it. The aim is to get you tweeting a bit and perhaps change the way you think about the site. It's much more than a social network - if you set it up in the right way, it's a really useful real time information channel. We'll talk about this some more today, I hope.

AWJ - Session 4 This week we're going to look at live blogging. We'll look at some examples of the way professional journalists approach this, some of the tools you can use to do it and then get you live blogging something in the afternoon. Before that, we need to work on sorting out the group sites. So we'll try to set up the groups and give you some time to finalise the ideas.
